Oodles and Oodles of Noodles!

oh now we get to the real stuff!!!! are you people ready for our review of noodles and company?

first off i would like to preface this by saying that i quite enjoy this place. it is my good friend emily and my date place. we got dinner together every week here my freshman year. fond memories! and of course my bestest frand bradlaaaay works here and it was a delight to see him on this day.

ok, down to business. there are four things we give a number rating on so 5 would be the absolute best, it surpassed my expectations, couldnt have been more amazing. a 1 (or...gasp! a 0) would be absolutely awful, never coming back.

so with that in mind!

date: august 31

comments: hmmm i am not gonna lie, not my favorite dish here! i definitely like japanese pan noodles better. it had a weird sauce that wasn't my favorite. the parm chicken is a way good idea though, it is crusty with cheese and yummy things...so good! but.... LOVE LOVE LOVE their rolls. they are so warm and delicious! i used to get flat bread but that was before i was exposed to the warm lovely goodness of the ciabatta roll =] overall, i would recommend this place to people. i love that they don't accept tips cause i mean we are poor college kids! also everyone who works there is super nice. as far as the atmosphere goes, hmm it was very busy when we went i am guessing cause it was welcome week. the busyness made it loud so i wouldnt go here if you wanted to get some serious talking done. although, if your talking was gossip and you wanted lots of noise to drown out the potential of others hearing you.... this place is ideal! oh and i want them to get different chairs. ♥ emay

ryan: spaghetti and meatballs with spicy marinara.

comments: Okay I'll tell you straight up I'm not a fan of Noodles and Co and Imma tell you why. My score up here /\ does not reflect how I truly feel about it. So I ordered the most popular item on the menu: spaghetti and meatballs w/ spicy marinara. I was pretty excited for this because I'm 1/4 Italian and I love a' to eat!! So whenever I get the chance to eat some pasta I'm jazzed. The service there was really good. The cashier was peppy and helpful. The 'waiter' (I guess you can call him that) was also really helpful. So service easy 5. Time also was an easy 5. We sat down and within 5 minutes we had our food. Which shocked me because there were like 158 people in there. So if someone can get this fatty food in five minutes they are deserving of recognition. Once the food hit, that's when my happiness began to wane. What set off this downhill spiral was how much I paid for and for how little I got. Take a look at this pic...

That's more sauce than anything! And there are like 4 meatballs in there! I call bull crap. When I get spaghetti and meatballs I get like 8 or 9 meatballs. After looking at my food for a few minutes I finally decide to take a bite. I was overwhelmed with mundane taste. The noodles were kinda dry and the sauce wasn't very spicy at all. I was very disappointed. My Gma's spaghetti would run circles around this bland bowl that sits in front of me. I digress, maybe I have to high of standards what do you think?

(To answer a few questions. Ricks is crossed off the list... I don't know what we were thinking on that one! And yes you may join us on these excursions!)

  1. I have to say Emma Maylen great choice! Your dish is my favorite at noodles and company! Although I have to disagree that I love the sauce. I was intrigued to read about the roll, I am a flatbread girl myself, so perhaps I have to give it a try. Ryan, I am a little disappointed you got Spaghetti and Meatballs, it is not one of the best choices they offer. Also if you can ever find a restaurant that gives you more than 5 meatballs I would be shocked! Noodles and Co is one of my favorite places on GR. I love the freshness of their pasta in the short time it takes to prepare! I looking forward to your next blog...perhaps I could join in, in the future!

  2. I actually didn't want the Spaghetti and Meatballs. I wanted something else but I had to get the most popular item. The cashier said that was all the rage! Yes you can join us when we go to the next place. We'll keep you posted!

  4. You guys should post the price of the dish to give some reference to the value figure. And Ryan: 8 or 9 meatballs, my god man. I will give you that 4 is a little low, but I honestly wouldn't expect more than 6, any more than that and the dish would probably be really overcrowded. Also, comparing noodles and company to your grandmother's spaghetti is incredibly unfair. To Emma: You should try my chicken parm, it's delicious!
